How I started my carrier as a Freelance Content Writer?

I was working as a content writer in a travel company, but as this Covid-19 has impacted everyone, why the hell will it leave me? My company had a layoff, and I lost my job. The worst thing in anyone’s life is constantly losing a job which they like.

Anyways, I started searching for jobs and guess what the salary, which every company was offering was less than my expectation. So, I kept searching for a month, and I was almost done.

Then one day, one of my friends told me about this freelancing, and then and there, I updated my LinkedIn as a freelancer content writer. And guess what, the miracle happened. I got an offer from a client, they asked me about my charges. I told them I charge around 70 to 80 paisa per word. They negotiated and offered me around 60 paise per word. Then I thought I should not lose this opportunity as I don’t have anything to work for; I agreed to work with them on their projects.

Since that day, I am still working as a content writer with different clients and various projects. And you know what, freelance is something which allows learning something new every day.

But you always need to keep in mind that you have to be sincere in whatever you do, and if you don’t take your work seriously, then don’t expect good returns.

Everything has it's up and down, so while as a freelancer, I also faced my problems. Sometimes, the client made me do the work and not pay afterward, which I never expected. Still, it would help if you took all this until you don’t get good clients, but hopefully, now I am getting good clients who are charging me a reasonable amount, and I am happy to be a freelancer.

Are you one like me? If yes, then feel free to share your stories in the comment section.
